OTTERTAIL, Minn. (KBRF) – An Ottertail man has been charged for sending threatening texts to his attorney and an Otter Tail County deputy.
Sixty-year-old Craig Hedstrom was arrested last week on threats of violence charges.
Prosecutors say Hedstrom sent messages to his attorney and a deputy threatening to kill them with an “a k” in regards to a DWI case. The attorney told investigators that after the case was resolved, Hedstrom blamed them for his troubles.
Both recipients interpreted the “a k” as a reference to an AK-style rifle.
After being taken into custody, Hedstrom told law enforcement that “a k” meant kindness. He acknowledged that sending the messages was a poor way to handle his frustrations about the DWI case from 2022.
