FARGO (KNFL/KFGO/RedHawks) — Timely hitting was key Saturday night for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (35-31) as they took down the Sioux City Explorers 10-7 on Saturday night at Newman Outdoor Field.
Nine different RedHawks (35-31) collected hits, including multi-hit games from Jesus Lujano, Tripp Clark, Tucupita Marcano and Brian Fuentes.
Fuentes drove in five runs, including a sixth-inning grand slam – the third of the season for Fargo-Moorhead.
Patrick Wicklander tossed a quality start on the bump for Fargo-Moorhead. Over six innings of work, he allowed just one unearned run on four hits and punched out four batters to earn the win.
Jon Beymer tossed a scoreless seventh inning in relief, while Parker Harm pitched the eighth and Angelo Cabral pitched the ninth.
The RedHawks look to finish their homestand strong with a rubber match contest on Sunday against the Explorers (30-36). First pitch at Newman Outdoor Field is set for 1 p.m.
