BEMIDJI, Minn. (KFGO) – One man is hospitalized and another is facing charges after a shooting southeast of Bemidji Friday afternoon.
The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office says deputies and emergency personnel responded to the call in the 1200 block of Little Norway Avenue SE around 2:30 p.m.
First responders provided care to the victim before he was taken to the hospital in Bemidji before being transferred to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. Investigators identified 18-year-old Ray Tahahawah as the suspect. He was taken into custody and charges with the Beltrami County Attorney’s office are pending.
The victim’s name has not been released. He is in stable condition.
Bemidji Police, Paul Bunyan Task Force, Headwaters Safe Trails Task Force, Red Lake Department of Public Safety, State Patrol, Department of Natural Resources, FBI, and Bemidji Ambulance assisted at the scene.
