ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO) – Former State Senator Justin Eichorn is expected to plead guilty to attempted enticement of a minor on Thursday in federal court in St. Paul.
The Grand Rapids Republican was arrested in March of last year during an underage prostitution sting in Bloomington. Eichorn, a father of four, resigned from the senate following his arrest. A change of plea notice was filed in U.S. District Court on Monday.
His defense attorney claims federal prosecutors targeted Eichorn because he was a state lawmaker. Others charged in the case are facing state charges.
His wife filed for divorce shortly after his arrest.
