(KFGO/KNFL) Charlie Kalbrener allowed six hits and one run in a complete-game victory as Fargo Post 2 defeated Rapid City 2-1 on Thursday evening at the Central Plains American Legion Baseball Tournament in Rapid City.
Post 2 scored runs in the first two innings. Jordan Leininger’s bases-loaded walk in the first inning and Connor Holm’s fielder’s choice in the second led to the Post 2 scoring. Post 2 used four walks from Rapid City pitcher Palmer Jacobs for the game’s first run.
Kalbrener struck out five batters, including the final two batters of the game which stranded the tying run at second base.
Fargo stays in the winners bracket. Next up is a matchup with Lincoln, NE on Friday night at 7:00 PM, central time.
