WILLMAR, Minn. – The Minnesota Board of Animal Health confirms that a commercial turkey operation in Otter Tail County is infected with bird flu.
Dr. Shauna Voss at the Willmar Poultry Testing Lab says the operation was the latest to be hit since highly pathogenic avian influenza resurfaced with fall migration on Sept. 16th.
Voss says the flock of more than 29,000 birds is the second one to be hit in the county. In late September, the board of animal health diagnosed bird flu in a flock of more than 16,000 in a commercial breeder operation in Otter Tail County and a flock of more than 20,000 in Becker County.
