(KNFL/KFGO) – Fargo-Moorhead was coming off a 2-1 loss last night against the Kane County Cougars in Geneva, Illinois. But the Redhawks were looking to even the series tonight.
Fargo-Moorhead would strike first on an RBI single by Nicholas Northcut in the top of the 2nd to make it 1-0 Redhawks. Aiden Byrne would swat an RBI single in the top of the 4th to make it 2-0. Todd Lott would get the Cougars on the board with an RBI single in the bottom of the 6th to make it a 2-1 game. The story of this game, would be the bullpen for the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks. Starting pitcher, Shane Barringer, was taken out after 5 and 1/3 innings of work. Colten Davis would then pitch in relief to finish the bottom of the 6th. Parker Harm would pitch 2 full shutout relief innings before being taken out in the bottom of the 9th for Kyle Johnston. Johnston would walk Oscar Santos, who would be the tying run. Nick Dalesandro would pinch run at first, and Naswell Paulino replaced Johnston on the mound. Alex McGarry was at the plate for Kane County representing the winning run. The Redhawks would catch Dalesandro off the bag for the 2nd out, before Naswell Paulino struck out Alex McGarry to end the game. The Redhawks bullpen threw 3 and 2/3 shutout innings in the 2-1 victory.
The winning pitcher was Shane Barringer for Fargo-Moorhead. The losing pitcher was Westin Muir of Kane County.
