WEST FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – West Fargo Public School District voters are being asked to approve around $163 million in building bonds.
A special election will take place on February 17 at a number of schools, since classes will be out that day.
Voters will be faced with deciding three questions on the ballot and each requires 60% approval to pass.
The first question, which includes around $100 million and includes the completion of expansions at Horace High School and Heritage Middle School, must pass for the following two questions to be approved.
Question two is around $58 million for a new elementary school and renovations.
Question three would provide $5 million for a third sheet of ice at Veterans Memorial Arena.
If all three pass, the owner of a $320,000 home would pay an estimated additional $280 a year in taxes.
The district’s last referendum failed a year ago.
