OGDEN, Utah (NDSU Athletics)– The North Dakota State men’s basketball team led from start to finish, posting a 77-73 road win over Weber State on Wednesday night as part of the Big Sky-Summit Challenge.
NDSU drained 15 three-pointers, making 15-of-34 (44 percent) from beyond the arc.
The Bison spent long stretches of the game without their starting backcourt. Masen Miller missed a majority of the first half with a bleeding cut on his head, and Brennan Watkins missed the entire second half after a collision under the basket left with him with a bloody nose and face.
NDSU senior Jacksen Moni led all players with 22 points, and Jacari White added 20 points, nine rebounds and four assists for the Bison. Tajavis Miller scored 13 points off the bench.
The Bison raced out to a 24-4 lead – connecting on six three-pointers in the game’s first seven minutes – and never trailed. NDSU led by as many as 16 in the second half at 58-42 with 13 minutes left.
Weber State cut the margin to three points on three different occasions late in the game, but each time White answered with a bucket or free throws for NDSU.
The Bison have now made 64 three-pointers over the past four games – an average of 16 per game.
NDSU will return home to host Northern Colorado on Saturday at 7 p.m. for the final game of the Big Sky-Summit Challenge.
