ST. PAUL – The vice chair of a special commission tasked with redesigning the Minnesota state flag and seal says public input is “pouring in” — around two thousand comments — since the finalists were posted online just before Thanksgiving.
Anita Gaul says there appears to be strong support for a state seal incorporating the loon, wild rice, lakes, the North Star, and the Norway pine — but she says on the state flag, no consensus seems to be emerging.
Gaul says the commission can incorporate facets of various submitted designs or approaches from a different angle based on public comments.
Its recommendations are due to the legislature by January 1st.
