WATFORD CITY, N.D. (KFGO) – A 22-year-old man is being held in the McKenzie County jail after attempting to sexually assault two women in Watford City earlier this month, according to police.
Police say Dylan Lobato of Watford City first attempted to sexually assault a taxi driver after she picked him up after he called for a ride just after midnight on July 11. The taxi driver said Lobato threatened her with a knife and attempted to force himself on her, then drove off in her taxi when she fled.
Within minutes of receiving the 911 call from the taxi driver, dispatchers fielded a second call of a possible vehicle burglary and attempted sexual assault from another woman seven blocks away from the taxi incident. That victim said she fought the assailant off and he fled.
The description of a suspect was obtained from both victims which matched that of a man who later was identified as Lobato. He was located, interviewed and a search warrant of his residence was completed. On Friday a warrant was issued for his arrest and he was taken into custody without incident.
He has been charged with felony gross sexual imposition by force, burglary, terrorizing, and sexual assault.
