FARGO (KFGO) – A public memorial service has been set for Fargo Police Officer Jake Wallin.
The service is scheduled for next Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Scheel’s Arena in Fargo.
Wallin’s funeral service will be held this Saturday at the high school in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, north of Brainerd. The service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. That will be followed by private graveyard service at Greenwood Cemetary in Nisswa.
His body will be escorted from Fargo by Fargo police vehicles only with commercial buses carrying police personnel. The procession will leave from the police department substation at 25th St. and 13th Ave. S at 5:45 a.m. Saturday.
Wallin was shot and killed last Friday after a 37-year-old Fargo man opened fire on firefighters and police officers at the scene of a traffic collision in the 900 block of 25th St. S.
