DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (KFGO) – An arrest warrant has been issued for a man suspected of shooting another man to death in Pine Point, Minnesota.
According to the Becker County’s Sheriff’s Office, 40-year-old Michael Croud of Ogema, Minnesota is wanted for 2nd degree murder. He is accused of killing 35-year-old David Hanks, Jr. of Park Rapids, Minnesota.
The sheriff’s department was called to a report of a person who had been shot in a vehicle just after 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Hanks was dead when deputies arrived at the scene.
Witnesses said a gray Pontiac G6 with White Earth license plate number 22079 left the scene before law enforcement arrived.
Authorities say they believe the incident is isolated and there is no threat to the public. Anyone with information is asked to call the Becker County Sheriff’s office at (218) 847-2661.
A number of agencies are assisting in the investigation including the White Earth Police, Hubbard County Sheriff, the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force, and the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
