PINE POINT, Minn. (KFGO) – A man was shot and killed Sunday night in the Becker County village of Pine Point.
The sheriff’s department was called to a report of a person who had been shot in a vehicle just after 6:30 p.m. The victim was dead when deputies arrived at the scene. Witnesses said a gray Pontiac G6 with White Earth license plate number 22079 left the scene before law enforcement arrived.
The victim’s name will be released after an autopsy. Authorities say they believe the incident is isolated and there is no threat to the public. Anyone with information that could aid the investigation is asked to call the Becker County Sheriff’s office at (218) 847-2661.
A number of agencies are assisting in the investigation including the White Earth Police, Hubbard County Sheriff, the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force, and the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
