(KFGO/KNFL) Sheyenne and Central Cass own the team lead in the ND State High School Golf Tournaments after the first day of play.
In Class A at Dickinson, Sheyenne shot a blistering 4-under par (284), leading second place Red River by fifteen shots. The Mustangs top four golfers are leading the individual scoring. Nate Peyerl shot a 3-under par 69 for the first day lead. Andrew Wilhelm is second at 71, with teammates Aiden Knodel and Quinn Breidenbach just behind at 72.
In Class B at Wahpeton, Central Cass shot 315 as a team, leading Region 2 foes Oak Grove by twelve shots and Kindred by thirteen strokes. Aidan Hall of Northern Cass and Zach St. Aubin of South Border are tied for individual lead at even par 71. Karsen Kulseth of Bowman County is third at 73.
Final day of play is Wednesday.
