VERONA, N.D. (KFGO) – A Valley city man was killed after a rock crashed through his windshield pickup in southeastern North Dakota.
According to the State Patrol, a semi carrying rock was on state Highway 1, north of Verona shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday.
A pickup approached the semi when the trailer released a load of rock onto the road.
The 58-year-old driver was hit. He was taken to Oakes hospital where he died.
A passenger in the pickup and the driver of the semi were not hurt.
The load of rocks wasn’t supposed to be dumped onto the highway.
