MOOSE LAKE, Minn. – Authorities are investigating a client assault on a staff member at the Moose Lake Sex Offender Program.
Carlton County sheriff’s deputies and first responders were called to the facility Monday afternoon and the 53-year-old victim was airlifted to the hospital.
MSOP Executive Director Nancy Johnston says an MSOP client used a heavy object to hit the staff member in the head, then repeatedly kicked him in the head while he was on the ground.
Investigators say a 29-year-old suspect was arrested and jailed pending second- and fourth-degree assault charges.
The Minnesota Department of Human Services is working with local officials on the case.
