(KFGO/KNFL) Albany shot 56 percent from the field as the Huskies earned a trip to the Class AA final with a 79-64 win over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton at the Minnesota State Boys Basketball Tournament at Target Center on Friday night.
Tyson Gerads led Albany with 31 points and 13-17 shooting. Sam Hondl was one rebounds shy of a triple-double with 14 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds.
Albany led 34-27 at halftime, and built the lead to 16 early in the second half. An Owen Leach four-point play with 10:02 left in the game got DGF within 11 points at 52-41. The Rebels could not cut the Albany lead to single digits the remainder of the game.
DGF shot just 33% from the floor (20-60), and 8-32 (25%) from three-point range.
Leach led the Rebels (25-7) with 30 points and 13 rebounds, with Drew Sheeley next with 15 points and six assists.
DGF faces Holy Family for third-place on Saturday at Concordia-St. Paul.
