(NDSU Athletics) ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The North Dakota State men’s basketball team lost 81-71 to Jacksonville State on Sunday afternoon on the final day of the Lobo Classic at The Pit.
Jacksonville State led 32-23 at halftime, and the Gamecocks used a stretch of 10-for-11 shooting in the second half to stretch their margin to 24 points at 62-38 with 11:30 left.
NDSU immediately cut that deficit in half, getting within 12 at 64-52 after Jacari White sparked a 14-2 Bison run with eight quick points. NDSU fought to pull within six at 77-71 in the final minute.
White led the Bison with a season-high 19 points off the bench, and Luke Yoder added 15 points for NDSU. Grant Nelson finished with 10 points and five assists.
The Bison (1-7) shot 41 percent for the game and made 12-of-29 (41 percent) from three-point range. The Gamecocks hit 47 percent from the field and 12-of-25 from beyond the arc.
The Bison will play next at Eastern Washington on Saturday, Dec. 3.
