MOORHEAD (KFGO) – Now that one of the most hotly contested races for the Minnesota State Senate is over, Rob Kupec is turning his focus to his priorities as the newly-minted Senator from District 4, which includes portions of Clay, Becker, and Norman counties.
“The governor has said he would like to call a special session to deal with this $9 billion surplus that we have,” Kupec said. “It’s a matter of taking that money and not just leaving it on the table, but putting it to work for Minnesotans, putting it back in their pocket, helping them out.”
Kupec said he knows his voice is important to represent the Greater Minnesota region in St. Paul.
“What happens out here in Greater Minnesota is different than what happens in the Twin Cities,” Kupec said. “If you look at a map, where DFL candidates are outside of the Twin Cities are scattered about, and few and far between.”
Kupec feels a lot of his job is bringing the message to St. Paul that Greater Minnesota is different and has different needs than are in the Twin Cities area.
He is hoping to sit on the Ag and Higher Ed Senate committees.
