(KFGO/KNFL) Green Bay, WI-Kyle Smolen and Anthony Menghini each tallied a goal and an assist as the Fargo Force won 4-1 over the Green Bay Gamblers at the Resch Center on Friday night.
(Fargo (2-1) fell behind early as Green Bay’s Garrett Hall started the scoring at 5:07 of the first period. Smolen tied the game at 1-1 nearly midway through the 2nd period. Tanner Walos put Fargo ahead to stay with a goal with 1:16 left in the 2nd to make it 2-1 Force.
Verner Miettinen and Menghini added goals in the final period to seal the game.
Fargo goalie Anton Castro stopped 39 shots for the win in goal, his first of the season.
The Force host Sioux Falls next Saturday, October 8 in their home opener at Scheels Arena. Gametime is 6:05 PM.
