(KFGO/KNFL) Franklin, WI -The American Association Championship series is even at one game each, as the series moves to Fargo starting Tuesday.
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks evened the series on Sunday with a 7-3 win over the Milwaukee Milkmen in Game 2 of the series on Sunday at Franklin Field.
After trailing all of Game 1, Fargo-Moorhead struck first on a two-run triple from Leo Pina in the top of the 3rd for a 2-0 lead. A John Silviano groundout later in the inning made it 3-0. Silviano left the game in the 7th inning after pulling up lame running the bases. RedHawks manager Chris Coste said after the game that Siliviano suffered a lower leg injury, and is questionable for the remainder of the series.
Milwaukee responded with a pair of runs off F-M starter Davis Feldman in the 3rd to cut the lead to 3-2.
Alec Olund added an RBI single in the 6th inning to increased the RedHawks’ lead to 4-2. Milwaukee threatened in the bottom of the 6th, but RedHawks reliever Reid Birlingmair struck out three consecutive batters to end the threat.
Manny Boscan added a two-run double in the 7th, and Christian Correa an RBI single in the 8th. Correa also picked off a runner at 3rd to end a Milkmen rally in the last of the 8th.
Feldman got the win for Fargo-Moorhead, allowing two runs on five hits. Lefty Ben Holmes took the loss for Milwaukee.
The series moves to Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo starting with Game 3 on Tuesday night. Game time is 6:30 PM.
