ROBBINSDALE, Minn. – Negotiations are ongoing this weekend ahead of a potential massive nurses’ strike on Monday at hospitals in the Twin Cities and Duluth.
Paul Omodt with the Twin Cities Hospitals Group accuses the nurses of rushing into a strike. He says nurses should “exhaust each and every means to avoid a strike, or resolve something before you affect patient care.”
Minnesota Nurses Association president Mary Turner said the nurses want the hospitals to “think outside the box.”
“Or at least, if they don’t like what they see, to come up with some other alternatives,” Turner said.
Hospitals are bracing for a possible union strike by bringing in replacement nurses.
