MOORHEAD, MINN. (KFGO/KVRR) – Moorhead Police have new equipment called the WRAP, a safety restraint system.
The restraints are used by officers to restrain suspects and people experiencing a mental crisis or those under the influence of drugs who could be a threat to themselves and to officers.
Police Sgt. Scott Kostohrys says the device has an ankle strap, a leg restraint, a chest harness, and a soft helmet, a fourth piece that can be used if needed. Three of the devices have been purchased. Moorhead is one of the only departments in the region to now have the Wrap restraint system.
