GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota men’s golf program will play in its penultimate tournament of the fall season this week when it plays in the Stampede at the Creek in Omaha, Neb.
Beginning on Monday, Oct. 4, the Fighting Hawks will compete against five other teams, Creighton, Northern Iowa, Omaha, St. Thomas and Western Illinois and play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. The teams will play in a shotgun start.
Indian Creek Golf Course, located in Elkhorn, Neb., features 27 holes across three different nine hole course designs. Indian Creek features 80+ bunkers and 15 holes with water hazards. Weather forecasts call for mid-to-high 70s over Monday and Tuesday with temperatures dipping into the 50s at tee time. Monday calls for clear skies while Tuesday forecasts partly sunny skies.
Lucas Feterl led the North Dakota men’s team for the second-straight week at Drake’s Zach Johnson Invitational. The freshman tied for 28th in the field at Glen Oaks Country Club, opening the tournament with a -1 score 70. As a team, all five of the Fighting Hawks scorers carded scores under 80 in all three rounds, accruing a team score of 907 to finish 15th.
