FARGO (KFGO) – Cass County Commissioners have authorized the go-ahead to apply for an emergency aid grant to help prevent and respond to COVID-19 at the county jail.
The Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding will cover expenses for supplies and sanitizing the jail. Some of the items include disinfectants, gloves and masks.
The total cost of the supplies is about $25,000.
The request came after an outbreak of COVID-19 at the jail. The facility went into lockdown. Testing last week that found 27 inmates and 3 staff with the virus.
