COLLEGEVILLE, MINN. – The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in the attack on a Minnesota State Patrol trooper.
Sixteen different law enforcement agencies were involved in the Thursday manhunt until 29-year-old Devan Wilson was taken into custody on the campus of Saint John’s University. The university had been on lockdown for almost 10 hours.
The state patrol says the incident started with a traffic stop on I-94 near St. Joseph of a suspected drunk driver who hit the trooper and drove away. When his car was disabled, he took off on foot.
The trooper suffered multiple broken bones in his jaw that will require surgery.
