The Minnesota Certified Crop Advisers invite amateur photographers to help tell the story of Minnesota CCAs through its inaugural Amateur Photo Contest. MCCA seeks high-resolution photos taken in Minnesota portraying CCAs and agriculture.
Submissions should fit into one of three categories: CCA in Action; Landscape/Weather; or Technology and Tools. One winner and two runner-up photos from each category, as well as one grand prize will be selected to earn cash prizes. Images must be submitted by Oct. 23 to emma@mcpr-cca.org. Full rules are available at https://mcpr-cca.org/mcca-
MCCA is also accepting nominations for two awards: the Minnesota Certified Crop Adviser of the Year Award and the Distinguished Service Award. These awards recognize individuals who have performed superior service for their farmer customers in nutrient management, soil and water management, integrated pest management and crop management.
“Minnesota is home to some of the most dedicated and knowledgeable CCAs in the country – smart, ethical and forward-thinking advisers who help growers succeed,” said Emma Haydock, MCPR 4R coordinator and CCA administrator. “These awards are our chance to spotlight their excellence.”
The Minnesota Certified Crop Adviser Award is designed to recognize a CCA who delivers exceptional customer service, is highly innovative, has shown that they are a leader in their field while contributing to the exchange of ideas and the transfer of agronomic knowledge within the agriculture industry. The Distinguished Service Award is designed to highlight the careers of recently retired Certified Crop Advisers whose long-standing contributions have significantly impacted farmers, the agricultural industry and environmental stewardship.
CCAs must be certified in Minnesota. Any adviser/consultant that spends the majority of their time advising growers or farm managers/operators on agronomic practices and can meet the standards of the program are eligible for nomination.
Click here to access the application form. Nominations must be submitted via the form by Friday, Oct. 23.
MCCA is the Minnesota branch of the Certified Crop Adviser program, which is a membership service of the American Society of Agronomy. Any public, commercial or independent adviser who counsels farmers, ranchers or other agricultural entities and can meet the rigorous standards of the CCA program is encouraged to participate.
