Derrick Lobbo (Cass County Jail)
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The Horace man who changed his plea to guilty to manslaughter in the shooting death of his girlfriend at their apartment last November is sentenced.
Judge Tristan Van de Streek sentenced 21-year-old Derrick Lobbo to 17 years in prison and three years of probation.
Twenty-three-year-old Sakeena Khaadi died of a single gunshot wound. Lobbo left the apartment after the shooting and went to a nearby clinic, seeking help.
His two-year-old daughter was still in the apartment when deputies arrived. The child was not hurt.
Months after the shooting, Lobbo was charged with conspiracy to commit forgery, a felony. A hearing in that case is set for October 2.
