ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO) – MyPillow founder Mike Lindell says he’s filing a temporary restraining order against the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office because they’re illegally trying to change the scope of his requested recount of the Minnesota Primary Election.
The secretary of state’s office says Lindell would need $825,000 to fund a recount of the August 11th primary, and only the votes for Lindell and winner Lisa Demuth would be counted. Votes for other republican candidates like Kendall Qualls and the votes in the Democratic Primary would not be recounted.
Lindell says only counting the votes for himself and Demuth is illegal, and would not identify the anomalies his team found in the election results. He says the issues with the election applied to all candidates because the same ballot was used for both the republican and democratic primary elections.
Lindell says he’s seeking the temporary restraining order so he can fight for a fair recount, and stop the secretary of state’s office from claiming he did not pay the $825,000 to fund the recount before the deadline. Lindell says he has money ready to pay for the recount.
