WASHINGTON (AP) — Michele Tafoya has won the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in Minnesota.
The top three polling candidates in the GOP race this time around included former NFL sideline reporter Michele Tafoya, Minnesota GOP endorsed candidate Adam Schwarze, and former NBA player Royce White, who lost to Sen. Amy Klobuchar in the 2024 general election.
“Minnesota is going 100 miles an hour in the wrong direction after years of single-party rule,” Tafoya said. “They’ve turned our state into a national embarrassment. I love this state. My husband and I fell in love here, raised our family here, and built our lives here. I will not sit by and let the state we call home become a laughingstock.”
No Republican has won a U.S. Senate seat in Minnesota since 2002, the last being Norm Coleman.
