MOORHEAD, MINN. (KFGO-KVRR) – Political newcomer Erika Yoney has won the DFL race for State Representative District 4A.
With all precincts reporting, Yoney captured 2,855 votes to Shelly Carlson’s 1,491.
Carlson is the current mayor of Moorhead.
Yoney, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, was endorsed by the party.
She will face Republican Andrew Rockhold in the Minnesota House District 4A race in November.
The winner will take the seat of DFL Rep. Heather Keeler who decided to run for Congress but lost the party’s backing to Erik Osberg and she dropped out.
