EMERADO, N.D. (KFGO) – A barn caught fire and collapsed over the weekend near Emerado, North Dakota. The Emerado Fire Department says they received the call just after 1 a.m. reporting a structure fire.
When fire crews arrived they found flames coming from the second story of a barn, as crews prepared to knock down the fire the barn began to collapse. The fire rapidly spread to the rest of the barn and started small fires on the nearby grass.
Fire departments from the Grand Forks Air Force Base and Larimore were called in to assist along with the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office and Altru Ambulance.
Crews knocked out the fire just before 6 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
