MOORHEAD (KFGO/KVRR) – Senator Amy Klobuchar made stops in Clay and Norman Counties on July 1 as she canvasses the state of Minnesota in her quest for the governor’s seat.
Klobuchar first held media availability in Moorhead, at the Nelson family farm, which has been growing crops such as sugar beets for four generations.
She spoke about her plans to support rural communities in Minnesota, especially ones focused on agriculture.
Those plans include strengthening the safety net for farms and expanding broadband internet access to the entire state.
Klobuchar said she believes she and the rest of the Minnesota DFL are offering the best set of proposals to those in rural areas.
“That’s why, for me, it was so important to come forward with these plans and the will to get them done,” she said. “You want to say ‘this is where we’re going to move forward’ – these are things we can do to actually make your life better and bring down costs.”
After Moorhead, Klobuchar moved on to the Red River Valley Co-Op in Halstad, where she spoke about recent infrastructure improvement projects.
