(KNFL/KFGO/AP) – Veteran guard Mike Conley and former Minnesota Timberwolves player has signed a 1-year deal with the Boston Celtics for his 20th season in the NBA. Conley spent the majority of his career with the Memphis Grizzlies, and the Utah Jazz. He was drafted fourth overall in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Grizzlies. Conley would spend his first six seasons with Memphis before being traded to Utah in 2019 where he spent four seasons with the Jazz.
Mike Conley eventually was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in February of 2023 in a three-team deal involving the Utah Jazz, and the Los Angeles Lakers. Conley has spent four seasons with Minnesota, reaching the Western Conference Finals during the 2023-24, and the 2024-25 seasons. This season, he was involved in a three-team deal that initially sent him to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for guard Ayo Dosunmu. Conley was then quickly packaged with guard Coby White and sent to the Charlotte Hornets. But they ended up waiving him not too long after the trade, making Mike Conley eligible to be picked back up by Minnesota. The Timberwolves would lose in six games to the eventual Western Conference Champion San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Semifinals.
Mike Conley becomes the 14th NBA player to make it to 20 NBA seasons.
