MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis police are searching for a suspect believed to have fired a weapon at officers. Police believe he may still be armed.
The incident happened Monday afternoon when the officers were patrolling an area in north Minneapolis near the intersection of 36th and Penn Avenues.
The officers reportedly did not return fire and no one was hurt.
Residents in the neighborhood were asked to shelter in place for a brief time during the early stages of the search for the suspect.
The man is described as a Black male in his late teens with a medium-large build and thick dreads. Officials said he was wearing a pink sweatshirt at the time of the shooting.
