There is still time to register to create your very own custom rain barrel! We must reach our class minimum by Monday otherwise the class will be cancelled.
All skills levels are welcome! You can paint your barrel a simple solid color of your choosing or you can get creative.
Dates: May 20 AND 21st from 5:30 – 8pm. Extra time is built in for painting. Participants must be able to attend both days.
On day one, participants will hear a short presentation about the basics of water quality and the effects of stormwater runoff, sand and put a base coat on their barrel.
The second day, participants will build and paint their rain barrel. Come prepared to bring home an empty 55-gallon barrel.
Participants should come to class with an idea of the design they would like to paint on their rain barrel. Get inspiration by looking online. Wear clothes you don’t mind painting in and dress for the weather (the building we are in does not have heat). Participants need a drill to install the rain barrel at home. Fee includes all other supplies.
Fee: $69 or $64 for Moorhead residents. Includes supplies.
Project Partners: River Keepers and Clay Soil & Water Conservation District
