FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO/KBRF) – A Stanley, North Dakota man is charged with illegally having a gun after leaving a handgun in the toy section of a Fergus Falls convenience store.
Court documents say Jacob Gilmore, 36, hid the gun after he was stopped by an Otter Tail County Deputy for suspicious driving. When the deputy tried to make the traffic stop, Gilmore pulled into a convenience store and hid in the bathroom. In surveillance footage, Gilmore is seen dropping the gun in an aisle with toys and candy. Court documents say the gun was wrapped in a bag with two loaded magazines and hidden under a shirt.
Gilmore was arrested on charges of a felon in possession of a firearm and gun possession without a permit.
