FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) — SCHEELS says it will be closing SCHEELS Home & Hardware on 13th Avenue S. in Fargo by the end of the year.
The location is the last remaining hardware store for the employee-owned company.
The Board of Directors determined that focusing on SCHEELS core business in the Fargo-Moorhead area is the best path forward. The company hopes to transition Home & Hardware associates to other open positions at SCHEELS in the metro or at any of its other 34 stores across the country.

Founded in 1902 as a small hardware store in Minnesota, SCHEELS has grown into an all-sports retailer with 34 locations across 16 states, and 4 new stores to open by spring 2028.
The company employs more than 13,000 associates.
