Warroad defeated Hibbing-Chilsholm 5-4 in overtime to win their first MN State Class A championship since 2005. Moorhead had some similar things happen in their AA Championship game; but yet there were big differences as well. The Spuds were trailing 4-1 going into the 3rd period and fought their way to a 4-4 tie, also pulling the goalie for the extra attacker and getting to the extra stanza before Evan Wanner secure the game winner in double overtime to secure the 5-4 victory to give the Spuds back to back championships.
