ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO) — A 32-year-old Carver, Minnesota man has been federally indicted for sixteen counts of Animal Crushing.
The U.S. Attorney’s office in St. Paul says Bryan Edison created hundreds of videos showing animals being tortured.
Edison allegedly posted nearly 350 animal crush videos on his YouTube channels. He created and then posted videos showing the animals being tortured and killed by impalement, crushing, drowning, suffocating, and being skinned and dismembered alive by larger animals.
The U.S. Attorney says Edison crushed and killed birds, hamsters, mice, guinea pigs, rabbits, lizards, dogs, and snapping turtles.
Edison’s animal crush channels, including “Prince’s Pet Planet” and “Prince’s Chomp Squad,” were removed by YouTube for multiple and severe violations of YouTube’s policy on violence.
The case was investigated by the FBI.
In 2019, President Trump expanded the “Crush Video Statute” with the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act, making it illegal for anyone to purposely engage in animal “crushing.” Federal law defines it as purposely crushing, burning, drowning, suffocating, impaling, or seriously injuring living mammals, birds, reptiles, or amphibians.
The PACT act says that people who intentionally torture and kill animals pose a unique danger to others and to society as a whole.
