SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KNFL) – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks fell 4-2 to the Sioux Falls Canaries on the road August 30. Sioux Falls evened the series at one each in game two of the four game set after the RedHawks won Friday night’s contest.
Thomas Dorminy led an impressive effort from the Canaries pitching staff. Dorminy earned the win after tossing six innings of two-run ball and allowing three hits. Tyler Jandron took the loss for the RedHawks.
The Sioux Falls bullpen slammed the door on Fargo-Moorhead with three shutout innings. Charlie Hasty earned the save.
The Canaries tallied nine hits and scored one run in four separate innings. Shortstop Jordan Barth led the effort with a two hit night highlighted by a home run, his 19th of the season.
Juan Fernandez accounted for half of Fargo-Moorhead’s hits in the ballgame. Fernandez went 3-3 as the RedHawks tallied six hits and left nine men on base.
Fargo-Moorhead slides 55-43, Sioux Falls improves to 56-42.
The RedHawks will play the Kansas City Monarch in the American Association playoffs. Sioux Falls plays the Sioux City Explorers. The playoffs begin for Fargo-Moorhead September 3.
