ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud-based CentraCare is making staffing adjustments in response to rising costs and reimbursement rates that no longer cover the full cost of care.
A spokeswoman says the moves are meant to protect the organization’s stability while maintaining high-quality service.
Most affected positions are in administrative and support roles, though some patient care jobs are impacted. The number of layoffs will depend on how many employees can fill over 350 current openings, with internal candidates prioritized. CentraCare has more than 11,600 employees and operates ten hospitals, 30 clinics, 166 outreach sites and a medical school.
