(KNFL/KFGO) – The Redhawks welcomed in the Winnipeg Goldeyes for a 3 game weekend series at Newman Outdoor Field. The two teams played a 3 game series in Winnipeg a day earlier, and were ready to run it back. However, a rain delay pushed the start time back to 9 pm.
Juan Fernandez would start the scoring for Fargo-Moorhead, as he got an RBI single in the bottom of the 2nd, making it 1-0 Redhawks. Then, in the bottom of the 3rd, Jose Sermo launched a 2 run home run into the night. That would make it 3-0 Redhawks after 3 innings. Nicholas Northcut would get a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 4th, and then Juan Fernandez would drive in a run on another RBI single. The Redhawks would be up 5-0 after 5 innings. They would get a sacrifice fly from Aiden Byrne in the 7th, followed by a sacrifice fly by Brendon Dadson in the 8th. Leading 7-0 going in the 9th, Fargo-Moorhead was in control. Winnipeg would get an RBI single by Gustavo Sosa in the top of the 9th, but the Redhawks would cruise to a 7-1 win.
