
(KNFL/KFGO) – It was the rubber match of a 3 game series last night between the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks, and the Winnipeg Goldeyes in Winnipeg, and no lead in this game was safe.
Aiden Byrne would start the scoring in the top of the 2nd with an RBI single, making it 1-0 Redhawks. However, in the bottom of the 4th, the Goldeyes would take the lead. Matthew Warkentin would get an RBI double, and Keshawn Lynch would drive in a run on an RBI single. Winnipeg would lead 2-1 after 4 innings. They would get one more in the bottom of the 5th, as Ramon Bramasco drove in a run on a sacrifice fly. The score would be 3-1 Winnipeg, but the lead would only last so long. In the top of the 7th, Aiden Byrne would cut the lead in half on an RBI single, and Juan Fernandez, would tie the game at 3-3 on an RBI single. Then, in the top of the 9th, Dillon Thomas, who has been known to be clutch late in games, drove in Aiden Byrne on an RBI single. That would give Fargo-Moorhead a 4-3 advantage. Winnipeg would end up having 2 runners in scoring position in the bottom of the 9th, but Garrett Alexander struck out Ramon Bramasco to end the game.
Colten Davis got the win in relief for Fargo-Moorhead, as he went 1 and 2/3 innings, while giving up 3 hits, no runs, no walks, while striking out 1. The losing pitcher was Ryder Yakel of Winnipeg. He went 2 innings in relief, while giving up 3 hits, 1 run that was earned, no walks, while striking out 2.
