
(KNFL/KFGO) – It would start out as a low scoring affair at Newman Outdoor Field this evening in game 3 of a 4 game series, between the Milwaukee Milkmen, and the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks.
Erik Ostberg would start the scoring with an RBI single in the top of the 1st off Redhawks pitcher Kolby Kiser. Milwaukee pitcher Juan Diaz would keep the Redhawks off the board all the way until the 6th inning, where Lamar Sparks would score Juan Fernandez from 3rd, on an RBI single. That tied the game at 1. Nicholas Northcut would then give the Redhawks the lead on an RBI single of his own, making it 2-1 Fargo-Moorhead.
The bases would be loaded in the bottom of the 7th, and Aiden Byrne would deliver with an RBI single. Then, Lamar Sparks, with the bases loaded, would drive in 2 more on an RBI single. Sparks would finish with 3 RBIs on 2 hits. Fargo-Moorhead would get one more run, on a Derek Maiben RBI single in the bottom of the 8th. This would lead to final score of 6-1.
The winning pitcher was Kolby Kiser of Fargo-Moorhead. Kiser went 6 innings, while giving up 7 hits, 1 run that was earned, no walks, while striking out 2. The losing pitcher was Juan Diaz of Milwaukee. He went 6 and a 1/3 inning, while giving up 9 hits, 4 runs with 3 of them being earned, no walks, while striking out 2.
This win also secured Redhawks manager, Chris Coste, his 250th win of his career. The Redhawks will look for the series win tomorrow afternoon before starting a 3 game weekend series at the Lincoln Saltdogs on Friday.
