(KNFL/KFGO) – The Redhawks were looking to avoid the sweep today in Sioux Falls against the Canaries after losing the first two games of the series. But, they would not be so lucky.
The only time a team would score would be in the bottom of the 5th, as Josh Rehwaldt hit a controversial 3 run home run, that ended up being confirmed upon review. That would make it a 3-0 lead for the Canaries, and eventually a 3-0 win. For the majority of the game, it was a pitchers dual between Redhawks starter Orlando Rodriguez and Canaries starter Brendan Knoll. Rodriguez was the losing pitcher, going 6 innings, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs that were all earned, 4 walks, whiles striking out 7. Meanwhile, for Brendan Knoll, the winning pitcher, went 5 and 2/3 innings, only allowing 2 hits, no runs, 6 walks, while striking out 3.
Fargo-Moorhead will head back home to start a 4 game set with the Milwaukee Milkmen starting tomorrow evening at Newman Outdoor Field. The pregame show is at 6:40 PM on AM 740 The FAN KNFL Fargo/107.3 FM.
