MINNEAPOLIS — An early lead in the first quarter simply never went away as the Minnesota Lynx dominated the Los Angeles Sparks at the Target Center this afternoon.
Making 13 of 16 field goals, Napheesa Collier’s performance was the standout. By the end of the third quarter, the team led 78-51 and she’d had her third 30+ point game of the season. She sat for the fourth, while the team’s bench put on their own show.
Natisha Hiedeman and Maria Kliundikova scored 14 and 11 points respectively. It was the Sparks who first drafted Kliundikova in 2018, though she hasn’t played for the team since 2019 when she was injured while playing for the Russian national team. Returning to the WNBA in 2025, still under contract with the Sparks, the center signed with Minnesota at the beginning of June of this year after being waived in May by LA.
Kelsey Plum scored 20 points for the Sparks; Rickea Jackson put up 18.
The Lynx will remain at home where they’ll play the Las Vegas Aces (5-4) on Tuesday.
