(KNFL/KFGO) – The Fargo-Mooorhead Redhawks and the Lincoln Saltdogs got set to play the 2nd game of their 4 game series that will end on Monday for the series finale. Lincoln had themselves a day at the plate.
In the bottom of the 2nd, Lincoln would get some insurance off of Redhawks starting pitcher Tyler Jandron. Ronaldo Espinosa started the scoring on an RBI single. Then, in the same inning, Danny Bautista would drive in 2 earned runs on an RBI single to make it 3-0 Lincoln after 2. In the very next inning, Lincoln would get 3 more runs. Drew Devine would blast a 2 run home run, and Danny Bautista delivered again with an RBI single. That 3 run 3rd made it 6-0 Lincoln. Tyler Jandron would be taken out after just 2 and 2/3 innings, giving up 5 hits, 6 runs that were all earned, 4 walks, while striking out 5. The Saltdogs would get much more in the 4th, as Neyfy Castillo, with the bases loaded, launched a grand slam into the Lincoln night. It would be a 10-0 lead for Lincoln after just 4 innings.
The Redhawks had a huge mountain to climb, but they managed to get one run off the starting pitcher for Lincoln starting pitcher, Nate Blain, due to an error by the Lincoln shortstop, scoring Colten Davis. That would be the final run of the game and inevitably the final score of the 2nd game of the series.
Lincoln would erupt for 2 home runs, 10 runs, and 10 hits. Fargo-Moorhead would only be able to muster 1 run on 6 hits. Nate Blain was the winning pitcher going 6 innings, giving up 4 hits, no runs or earned runs, 3 walks, while striking out 3.
The Redhawks look to avoid a series loss tomorrow afternoon in game 3 of the series. The pregame show begins at 12:45 tomorrow afternoon on AM 740 The Fan KNFL Fargo/107.3 FM. The series finale will be played on Monday.
