UND Athletics Head Football Coach Eric Schmidt
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (UND Athletics)– University of North Dakota head football coach Eric Schmidt announced the addition of six transfers to the Fighting Hawks 2025 roster on Monday.
“Our staff has done an excellent job adding these six young men to our family,” said Coach Schmidt. “Each player fits a specific need on our team and will create more competition on our roster. Plus, it gives us some roster protection heading into the summer.”

Idrique Carmichael | DB | 5-10 | 180 | Pasadena, Calif. | Pasadena City College
Spent two seasons as a defensive back at Pasadena City College … Saw action in 21 games over his two seasons and piled up 59 tackles (38 solo), 4.5 tackles-for-loss, 16 pass breakups, eight interceptions, a fumble recovery and a blocked a punt … Had 32 total tackles, 3.5 TFL’s, eight pass deflections and picked off a pass in 2024 … Named the 2023 APL Defensive Player of the Year.
Michael Devereaux | LB | 6-1 | 235 | El Reno, Okla. | Old Dominion
Saw action in four games at Old Dominion in 2024 and had nine tackles and half a sack … Had a season-best three tackles in the 24-14 win over Texas State in 2024 … Previously spent two seasons playing linebacker at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M … Appeared in 18 games as a Norsemen and racked up 50 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, a sack and recovered a fumble.
Watson Hafer | TE | 6-4 | 230 | West Plains, Mo. | Missouri State
Appeared in five games as a tight end during his two years at Missouri State … Named the Missouri State Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week on Nov. 9, 2024 … Hauled in 39 receptions for 500 yards and four scores during his senior season at West Plains High School … Rated as a three-star athlete by 247Sports in 2022.
Tyler Henry | DL | 6-3 | 285 | Houston, Texas | Sacramento State
Spent three seasons as a defensive lineman at Sacramento State … Played in three games … Put down a tackle in the 34-6 win over Texas A&M Commerce in 2023 … Helped the Hornets reach the second round of the FCS playoffs in 2023 … Was a two-way player for De La Salle High School in California during his prep career … Two-star recruit from 247Sports.
Hunter Kallstrom | TE | 6-4 | 225 | Kerkhoven, Minn. | Wyoming
Spent one season as a tight end at Wyoming and redshirted … Played at Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg High School during his prep career … Ranked as the No. 13 overall recruit from the state of Minnesota in 2023 … Played in the 2023 Minnesota High School All-Star Game and was named to the 2023 West Central Tribune All-Area Team.
Xavier Leigh | RB | 5-10 | 189 | Troy, N.Y. | Sacred Heart
Played 31 games as a running back over four seasons at Sacred Heart University … Recorded 146 rushes for 729 yards and six scores as a Pioneer … Also hauled in 16 catches for 59 yards … Rushed 93 times for 517 yards and five scores, while averaging 5.6 yards per touch in 2024.
